review 1: Essentially miss “I’m so popular cheerleader” finds her boyfriend with another girl. He then announces in front of everyone that he isn’t interested in her, she’s embarrassed and pissed so forces her best friend Brent to pretend to be her boyfriend to get back at mr “I’m a dick football player”. Needless to say it’s a bit of a disaster.This book was so irritating. Alyssa spends the whole time bitching and moaning unable to figure out why Brent keeps getting mad at her, maybe because she’s not considering their friendship, just the fact that she can’t possibly face school without being able to say she has a boyfriend. Some of the other characters were ok, Beth and her boyfriend were pretty cool and so was Brent. But Alyssa…she supposedly doesn’t ev... moreen like cheerleading, she just did it because she wanted to be popular or it was what she thought was expected of her or something. Thank god she finally starts coaching a kids sports team, it’s about the only time she actually starts to act like a human being. Sorry, this was not a good read.Also, you shouldn’t mix up then and than, or you and your, or write striped instead of stripped. It’s simple editing errors that make the whole thing seem even more unprofessional than it already did.I like YA romance novels, there’s some element of it in the majority of books I read. I don’t like shallow main characters and Alyssa was definitely one of them. Even though she worked everything out in the end it felt a bit fake, how can a person suddenly change and become nice and normal that quick? Just no.
review 2: This book reminds me of how teenagers think their lives are all the time. I loved how it really captured me into it and I wouldn't put the book down until I was satisfied with where I was. It made me laugh it made me cry and it really pulled at my heart strings how the detail seemed so real. This is seriously one of the best romance novels I read because it makes me connect to everything at is happening. less
