review 1: OMG! I think I've seriously fallen in love with T.J. Klune. Really...deeply in love.Though the story might not be so original (but seriously since now I haven't found a m/m book with such an original plot)T.J. Klune way of writing is fenomenal.I found it so genuine and funny that my husband is sick and tired of me reading to him almost the entire book because "It's so hilarious!". T.J. Klune has been capable of making me laugh even in the hardest moments of the story, using a sense of humor that I really love (and use myself with my best friend). And last but not least... Finally a protagonist who isn't the perfect man, but a human one!!!Oh, I almost forgot...Wheels! I loved Wheels! Can I have one?
review 2: Oh My God!!!Okay, so I just finished listening to this
... more book (if you haven't heard the audio version then I totally recommend it) and am sore from laughing so hard. This is a love story, a story of growth, of finding out who you truly are. Paul is our main character. He's a shy, neurotic, slightly chubby, clumsy kind of person and one of the funniest characters that I have ever read. One night when he is out with his best friend Sandy he catches the eye of the gorgeous Vince and her the fun starts. Through a series of almost unbelievable coincidences their live begin to intertwine in random and bizarre ways, almost as if fate is trying to give Paul a clue. There story is sweet and comical and filled with wonderful rants (Mostly from Paul) and while its not the smoothest ride, tinged with a touch of tragedy, it is one that I will come back to again and again.I came across this book as a recommendation from Audible. I listened to the sample and was laughing so hard in that five minutes that I knew instantly that I just had to have more. Michael Lesley performance as Paul is phenomenal. One of the best performances that I have ever heard. He brought this story to life in a way that I fully felt as if I was sitting across from Paul, having a coffee listening to him telling me his tale. Yet I can't give Michael Lesley all the credit. TJ Klune must be a great talent for creating this tale. I wish I could write as good as him. The way he weaves this story, never making anything seem to outrageous or convoluted and keep all the 'Over the Top' parts well with in acceptable limits. As this is my first time I have read TJ Klune I am a convert and will be reading/listening to more of his work.So my conclusion, and if you have read this much then thank you but as I was saying, I fully recommend listening/reading this book if you are a fan of romantic comedies or in just need of a good laugh. I found Tell Me It's Real to be that rare, special kind of book, that I am going to come back to over and over again simply enjoy each and ever time. Trust me, this book It's Real.(Was that to cheesy? If so I'm sorry, Paul's voice is so much in my head right now I'm kinda feeling a little weirded out.) less
