review 1: Wow.. After I was left wondering what the fate of Sarah Jane Rispoli Counselor at Large was going to be I was so ready to start this one and it got even better. As we dive deeper into trying to figure out how to obtain the "Ultimate Power", SJ is suddenly visited by her "Uncle Jack" who just so happens to be her grandpa Enzo's brother who's fate was mysteriously never talked of. With him comes his daughter and her daughter Heather. Along with the mysterious long-lost family showing up she has to deal with these some-thing less than human Ice-Cream Creatures.. Don't mind the name they are creepier than they sound and hell- bent on capturing Sarah Jane. With everything going on she keeps digging deeper and deeper trying to figure out the secrets of the notebook. The suspense... more and the need to find out what has happened with her family kept me on the edge of my seat. At the end I felt mostly satisfied with how certain aspects of the story turned out but at the same time I was left needing more. As more information comes to light it leads her journey in a different direction and even she is starting to wonder if she will ever find them. Will she give up? Doubt it. Will she be chased some more, probably.. Will there be more butt- kicking.. Most definitely.I sure cannot wait to find out.
review 2: It was a very complicated story, with some parts that I didn't really understand. A peculiar plot in a unique kind of way? Overall, I loved Sara Jane, the main character, because she's an awesome butt-kicker, but the plot was downright odd. There were some characters that were out of place, some parts of the book that seemed strange and unnecessary, some that I didn't even understand at all. It was alright, though, but I think the first book was more powerful and speedy than this one. less

Ted most definitely knows how to create a stellar kick-ass heroine. I love this series so hard.

A fairly intense, fascinating second book in a trilogy.
