review 1: I liked the book Cold Fury by: T.M. Goeglein because it was exciting and you never knew what was going to happen next. The setting of this book was Chicago, IL. The main characters were Sara Jane Rispoli, Detective Smelt and Ski-Mask Guy, Uncle Buddy, Max and Doug and in the beginning of the book the rest of the Rispoli family. The main conflicts of this book were when Sara Jane tried to find out why and where her family was taken while simultaneously finding out about the Outfit, she was also fighting people who wanted to rule the Outfit or people who wanted her parents. I would recommend this book to people interested in mystery type books and to people interested in reading about law enforcement and gang because the whole story is one giant mystery and there is a lot of... more law enforcement and gang related topics in this particular book.
review 2: First I must say I have never read anything quite like this and was pleasantly surprised. We have what seems to be a normal bakery loving Italian family that quickly turns into much more, and for 16 year old Sarah Jane Rispoli includes, mystery, danger, and suspense. I found the story very descriptive and it gave me a since of seeing what Sarah was seeing and with all the secrets that she discovers it made me wish I was there along side her. Sarah mostly sticks to her self and that is the way her family has always preferred it. After an incident with her grandpa and the chaos that ensues Sarah finds herself on the run in search of the ones she loves, and with nothing but a notebook.. some unlikely sidekicks, and some all around shady characters who I am still not sure if they are friend or foe. The story line moved at a great pace and I could NOT put it down and was able to devour it in no time. I was left needing more as there is a HUGE cliffie at the end. I really did like the fact of the Mob factor and almost a sense of Masons to it with all of the different aspects and secrecy that seems to be involved. I cannot wait to start the next one!! less
