review 1: This was rather fascinating book which reveals a little more about government than we might know. A situation is set up where the vice president--after Obama's presidency--dies, and his successor is not in place when the president dies of an aneurysm. There is a group of men called the Datura, who are plotting all sorts of cabals. A young 29 year old woman named Mattie proves to be a heroine, when she foils a plot.
review 2: Led by an English Lord, but in favor of a strong U.S., a small group of highly placed officials plot to place one of their own in the Presidents seat after the VP has died and the then the sitting President succumbs to a heart attack before a new VP is sworn in. This makes for a open field as several parties in the line of succession vi... moree for the seat and the cabal works to clear the way for their candidate. An Inside the Beltway suspense novel in this 3 star (my rating) offering. less
