review 1: I think Tom Angleberger is making the same error that George Lucas once did... if you think back, and if you are really, really honest..... Would you think that Phantom menace was a good movie? Seriously... try to think about as an independent unit, without consider the first movies..... Seriously George Lucas!!! Jar Jar Binks?????Perhaps once again I’m just resenting the lack of protagonist of Dwight and Origami Yoda. It’s seems to me that they were the best part and they made me laugh so much... adding a bunch of different origami characters is not enough, I couldn’t remember some of them from the movies and they don’t have the same magic as yoda.The story goes like this... after the return of Dwight at McQuarrie Middle School, the gang has to deal with new chang... morees in their curricula; because the school wants to improve kid's test scores. They withdraw their favorite classes and replace them with "FunTime"... which are boring video of a singing cartoon teaching them mathematics. So a rebellion is born, made by children in different grades (each with an origami Star Wars puppet) who are determined to do everything possible to defeat this threat.۰ • ● ▪ ۰ • ● ▪۰ • ● ▪ ۰ • ● ▪ ۰ • ● ▪ ۰ • ● ▪ ۰ • ● ▪۰ • ● ▪ ۰ • ● ▪ ۰ • ● ▪ Creo que Tom Angleberger está cometiendo el mismo error que George Lucas cometió una vez ... si usted recuerda, y si usted es muy, muy honesto ... .. ¿Te parece que La amenaza fantasma fue una buena película? En serio ... trate de pensar en ella como una unidad independiente, sin considerar las primeras películas ... .. ¡¡¡ De verdad George Lucas !!! ¿¿¿¿¿Jar Jar Binks ?????Tal vez una vez más estoy resintiendo la falta de protagonismo de Dwight y Origami Yoda. Me parece a que ellos eran la mejor parte y que me hacían reír tanto... agregando un montón de diferentes personajes de origami no es suficiente, no podía recordar algunos de ellos a partir de las películas y no tienen la misma magia como yoda.La historia es la siguiente... después del regreso de Dwight en McQuarrie Middle School, la pandilla tiene que hacer frente a nuevos cambios en sus planes de estudio; ya que la escuela quiere mejorar los puntajes de los niños en los exámenes. Ellos retiran sus clases favoritas y las sustituyen con "FunTime"... que son aburridos vídeos de una caricatura cantando enseñándoles matemáticas. Así que una rebelión nace, hecho por niños de diferentes grados (cada uno con una marioneta de origami de Star Wars) que están determinado a hacer todo lo posible para derrotar a esta amenaza.
review 2: I was a bit lost during this one. I don't know all of the characters from the first 3 episodes of Star Wars (cause I didn't see em), so I did not get the references. I was also a bit dismayed that the kids were being kind of mean to the teachers and principal who don't get to choose the curriculum and who have to answer to the Board, etc. But I guess that's me reading with my adult eyes. And it took me till the end of the book to get "FunTime Menace". OMG! ALSO this book just ends with a 'To Be Continued..." which made me want to tear out my hair out slightly. less
