review 1: In Emperor Pickletine Rides the Bus, the grade goes to Washington D.C. Here's the worst part, it's a 7 hour round trip with NO PHONES, GAMES, AND NO ORIGAMI! On the bus during snack time, every one is sooooooo bored. When Harvey takes out Emperor Pickletine, he starts annoying every one and makes it worse. When Dwight takes out a bag of twenty fruit rollups, he folds one into a origami Yoda which they all refer to as Fruitigami Yoda and gives Kelen advise that actually helps! Every time Dwight makes a fruitigami Yoda, he eats it. The whole way to Washington D.C. and back, the fruitigami Yodas' gives advice. The best part, is when they go to the Air and Space museum at the Smithsonian. I won't spoil it but, let's just say throwing paper airplanes made to look like Star Wars... more ships off the balcony towards a very old and important airplane, isn't such a good idea. If you do read this book, I recommend reading the whole series in order because there are some things from previous books you need to understand. I gave this book four out of five stars because it was very funny. It was one of my favorite books in the Origami Yoda series.
review 2: The Origami Yoda books end with another funny, sweet, gross, entry. This time, the kids are on a field trip to Washington DC, where relationships - friends, new boyfriends-girlfriends, teachers - all get explored. Unfortunately, Origami Yoda - and all other paper folding - are strictly banned and confiscated. How will the students navigate the difficulties of the field trip without his wisdom? Will there be an answer once and for all if Origami Yoda is real? And what's with Harvey's dried up pickle Sith lord? You don't have to be a Star Wars nerd to find these books funny, but it would surely help. Students will love these books for many years to come! less
