review 1: OMG! If this book doesn't move you nothing will! This one tore me up completely. The author had me hooked right from the start with his heartwrenching account of the poverty, suffering and abuse in Swaziland, South Africa. This novel is based on real life and the characters are from relationships the author had with real people he met working as a photo-journalist in South Africa. I am so looking forward to reading his next novel about the sex-slave trade in Russia.
review 2: Everyone should read this book and get their heads out of the sand in regards to how women and children are treated in some countries. This book is fiction but based on many real life compilation of several lives. The story will break your heart - and it should. You will be compelled (o... morer more compelled) to make a difference no matter how insignificant you may think helping one would be. A whole lot of "ones" working together make a huge impact. less
