review 1: I won this in a Goodreads first reads giveaway and I found it to be an interesting read. It gave me a new insight on life, and what really surprised me was that this comes from Tom Shadyac. I didn't agree with everything he said, but it was interesting nonetheless and I really enjoyed how it was formatted. The conversations made it a really quick read and it just got to the point quickly without dragging it out too long, so thumbs up for the conciseness. Also I enjoyed the quotes from Ruminant and other poets and philosophers at the beginning of each chapter, the wisdom of their words was a great addition to the book.
review 2: I find Tom Shadyac a very fascinating and compelling individual. I read this book with enthusiasm, mostly underscoring what I'd already
... more learned from his documentary, "I Am." He shares very simple arguments for why he has shifted down to a very simple, non-materialistic life. It's a very simple message, so the book isn't heavy or complex. It's very thought provoking, and a book I'll probably read again from time to time. less
