review 1: My mom actually made me read it. a boy and a girl Travis and Eliza and her dad try to figure out how to get back Eliza's mom. when they try they make the people in the earth disappear. My favorite quote is "Sometimes people cry because they're happy, you now. Oh, you wouldn't ever understand. You're a guy." reason is because Eliza suspects that since Travis is a guy he wouldn't understand and they way she said it him was with an attitude.Tom Upton's writing style is a little strange.I mean don't get me wrong the way he describes everything is very descriptive and you can picture it," it's just the things that he writes is odd. i would recommend this book to some friends because i know they will enjoy it , and they way that you can picture the book, that is something they wil... morel like.
review 2: One of Tom Upton's finest work, I believe. And I'm re-reading it for the 3rd time... it really is that good...But, back to the book. Just Plain Weird tells a 1st person narrative of Travis, a 15-year-old, whose aims are to get fit and join the football team, until a girl named Eliza becomes her new neighbour. For a while now, Travis has been "looking" at the house, because of the strange inactivity from the house. His "friend", Raffles, who was aware of his spying on the house, decides to greet the new neighbours to finally see what they are like. Upon doing so, Travis falls in love with Eliza at first sight. Travis begins to get interested in her and attempts to talk to her, and in doing so, Travis discovers her secret, that make things just plain weird.A sci-fi, romance, comedy and thriller all at once: This book is sweet, funny, and simply quite a thrill to read. Can be slightly confusing for some readers, nonetheless, everything is well explained by the loveable characters.Tom Upton's skill for storytelling are so good, once may not be enough.Lui :) less
