review 1: This is the second volume in the series and the relationship between Kaya and Kyohei continues. Kaya deals with feelings she didn't realize she had though logically knows she "shouldn't" have and Kyohei is hot and cold. There were some interesting things revealed in this book (about vampires and the Tohma brother's mother appearing). But at the end of the book I'm reminded of why I don't read Manga so much anymore - the fact that we don't really get a full "story" in one book and I'm impatient. At least this series is complete (at only seven volumes thankfully) so it won't require waiting for the next book (except that my library only had the first two). Will I read the others in the series (if I can get a hold of them at the library - yes, If I have to pay $10 per b... moreook - no). It was however an enjoyable read (well mostly - aside from those times I wanted to smack Kyohei). As a side note there are several "mature scenes" (by "mature" I do mean sexual in nature - though not too explicit) especially toward the end of the book so it's not appropriate for everyone and is rated M (18+) for a reason.
review 2: Sometimes, feelings get you so confused that you don't know what to do. That's what happens to Kaya in this volume. She's a smart young woman, who makes a wonderful secretary for Director Kyohei. But, it's obvious that she has fallen head-over-heels for him. She's tired of seeing women streaming in-and-out of his office, with none of them--even her--being anything more to Kyohei than just a constant and consistent food source. So, Kaya files for a transfer away from the man who will never return her feelings, far from constant reminders that she truly means nothing to him. But, nothing goes as planned for either of them. He swears that she means nothing to him, but rushes to rescue her as soon she is in danger. She swears that that she will never return to her prior position in his office, but rushes to his apartment when told that he needs blood, willing to give him her blood, body, and heart. At a time when so much seems to be at stake, can both just open up to one another, and express how they truly feel about each other? Or, will they each let the other slip away forever?----------------------- This volume was provided to me as an eManga by VIZ Media, via Edelweiss, in exchange for an honest review.
