review 1: I think this book was written for Toddler Time! The sparse words still manage to tell a fun story, and the abundance of prepositions means it's packed with vocabulary words. The bright illustrations and heavy lines translate well to a group setting, even though the book itself is a little on the wee side. This book also lends itself to a movement storytime! Encouraging preschoolers or toddlers to get up and move like Early Bird is practically impossible to resist. Great book for toddler or story times about morning time, friends, movement, or birds.
review 2: This is a cute story about a bird, who's an early riser. She's not the only who gets up early. There's someone she's meeting when the sunrises, in the garden. I enjoyed the fact that this story is simple i... moren it's story telling, making it incredibly easy for toddlers and young readers to follow along. It's also a great beginning reader book. The illustrations are cute, and I loved that they're not overly detailed. This again is beneficial to young readers, as the vividly bright and catchy illustrations will hold their attention. This is a cute story worth picking up. This is a great book for toddlers & preschool aged children. less
