review 1: The Copernicus Legacy...The Serpents Curse...Book 2ByTony AbbottMy " in a nutshell" summary...This is a continuation of Book 1 but in this book Sara...Wade and Darrell's mother/stepmother...has been taken by the evil Galena Krause...in her quest to get another part of the 12 parts of the Copernicus Legacy. My thoughts after reading this book...This book begins where the first book stopped. Our travelers are exhausted, weary and at the beginning of another quest. Dr. Kaplan and Wade and Darrell are in search of Sara. Lily and Becca are with them now because they were with them on the first quest. It's all about obtaining the twelve Copernicus relics. We have the guardians of the relics...the good guys...battling against Galina Krause and her horrific team who will stop ... moreat nothing to get these relics. So...the good team is always running and not knowing whom to trust...the bad guys are chasing and being as bad as they can be. It's awesome! What I loved about this book...This book is a fantastic mix of the author's fascination with " the layering of imagined story and factual research" and he does it beautifully in the first two novels of this series. He ends each book in such an exciting manner that you go to bed praying for the next book...or in my case...I wait until two books are written and then I read both in a row. Sigh!Final thoughts...This is an awesome book and series. I loved it and I am all grown up! I think middle graders and perhaps even younger readers will love this series!
review 2: The book was hard for me to get interested in at first because I didn't read book 1. Once I figured it out I was sucked into the mystery of the search for the relics. I could not put the book down and ended up reading until 3 am. I am going to have to go to the library and find book 1 to read and I can't wait for book 3 to come out. I read all the 39 clues books to my kids and they loved them as much as I did. This series is similar although written a higher grade level. I am definitely going to pass this book on to friends who love reading adventure stories. less

Another series in the same vein as the 39 Clues.
