review 1: This book was good and ended the series well. I especially enjoyed how the epilogue was handled, but Wondla suffers a little from the fact it was a trilogy that I read one book at a time. I found myself trying to remember plot points and characters from long ago, and because of that, many parts seemed like a chore to read. This book has many alien places and characters that are not easy to recall. That being said, the idea was intriguing, and the plot was sound. The power that Eva Nine has was well thought out. I just feel that I would have connected far better to this one if I read it all together, or at least closer together. A great read for teens and adults alike now that the whole series is out.
review 2: DiTerlizzi's art and the way he blends it with his ... morewriting is still amazing and inspiring- as well as the extensive, lush world he's created. My disappoint with Eva's journey, though, comes from the content. While I still take these books as works of fiction (of course) there are portions of the story and it's "message" that I don't agree with and just seemed all too new-age-flower-power to me… But, keeping these details viewed as fantasy, I will say that the story came to a satisfying conclusion with the rankings of an epic adventure.I found book three to be part Star Wars, part dystopian, part War of the Worlds, part connect-to-the-forest (?), and part timeless classic. Some of the content wasn't in line with my views, but I'm no less aware of DiTerlizzi's awesome skill and will be watching for his next project. less
