review 1: This book is difficult to rate for me... I liked it, yet I didn't. It was raw and really dealt with the raw emotions a spouse deals with when loosing their mate. That part was tough to read, but I could... the part for me that difficult to read was about the "haunted" house... the demons, the spirits, the witches, etc. While I know that these evil spirits exist and as Christians we surely have the authority to make them flee in the name of Jesus. I could just tell that my spirit did not like reading specific parts of this book. I loved the love story, the story of healing, the story of allowing herself to love again, and the story of Jesus once again defeating Satan. It was just spirit clenching to reading at certain parts within the book.
review 2: Rarely did
... moreI wish I had not read a book. This was in the "mystery" section rather than the "religious fiction" section. The latter I find either sappy - "Oh, wow, look at Jesus!" - or objectionable theologically - Hal Lindsey, et al. This was in the first category - any ordained minister will tell you they wish all you had to do was utter the name of Jesus and all problems would go away. As this was fictionally so, and stated many times in the book, there was no tension when the ultimate drama occurred. Given that, the book was just a romance novel, and a not very good one. less

not a fan of spooks though I did like the emphasis on the spiritual to oppose the 'darkness'.

Good story. Not too much religion but a good Christian love story.
