review 1: I suppose if I hadn't read The Lovely Bones, I would have rated this one better. There wasn't anything wrong with this book, but it just lacked oomph. There was no rising action or resolving action or surprising twist. I did enjoy the writing style and the alternating POVs were done well so I will check out the author's other works. It just seemed like she had a great idea and then didn't know what to do with it.
review 2: This is one of those quiet, dark books that keeps you interested enough to keep reading. Lark is a sixteen year-old gymnast who is kidnapped and left to die in a snowstorm. Her spirit and memory haunt the friends she left behind. Predictably, they must face her violent death so her soul can rest in peace, and only then can they continue w... moreith their lives. There's nothing unique about the writing, but the brevity of the story is refreshing. I finished it in under two hours. I would recommend it to anyone who enjoyed The Lovely Bones or Lisa Schroeder's story in verse, I Heart You, You Haunt Me. less
