Land of the Lone Star
review 1: This is the third book in the Land of the Lone Star series. The story centers on Carissa Lowe, a widow and mother of a little girl. Carissa’s past with her abusive husband haunts her along with the tragic events that resulted in the loss of her husband. The author does a good job in explaining briefly the events that occurred to Carissa (being the fact that Book Two was about these events) which lead to her fearfulness and caution. Tyler Atherton is very much a part of Carissa’s story. He saved her life on that tragic day in Carissa’s life and at the beginning of the story it is discovered that Tyler cares very much for Carissa and her daughter. The author does a wonderful job describing these two characters and telling their separate yet intertwined journeys. ... more So many these are reflected in this book such as forgiveness, trust, and love. I found that it wasn’t necessary to read the first two books in order to read this one. This was an entertaining read filled with adventure, suspense, and romance. Overall, this was an enjoyable read.
review 2: I have read several of Tracie's books and have loved them all. I have not read the two before this book yet though. I have them on my list to read. I won this in a book giveaway so read it out of order. Carrissa has a past, one she wants to completely forget. The only thing is that living with her daughter and her sister and family on a ranch is taking her right where she doesn't want to go. Back to that time she wants to forget. Tyler has a mission in life, to get back the ranch that was lost to him after the Civil War ended. The only thing is that the government isn't giving or selling any land to men who were ex-Rebs.The last thing Carrissa wants to do is get involved with Tyler, he was part of her past, and she doesn't want him as part of her future. Or does she?Tracie has a wonderful way of weaving the words together into a story that will keep you interested from the first words to the last. This is a must read book. less

Very good western. I enjoyed the plot twist at the end and the overall Christian bent of the story.

I like how the author tied all three of the books in this series together in this last book.
