review 1: Acadia King has been alone for two year, which is how long her husband Lawson has been dead. When her friends talk her into going out and finding a man for the night, she can’t believe that she has agreed. While at the cocktail bar, she spots a very handsome man and approaches him. Talks him into going somewhere with her. When they have to return to the bar because one of his friends has his hotel room key, all hell breaks loose. Some kind of infection has people going crazy attacking and killing others. Luckily Acadia has a gun and knows how to use it. She shoots a few infected people to get her, Rod, T-Bone, Ray Dean and Barbara out of the bar. They head back to the King Farm where Acadia will began to form a plan and get everyone on board and the end game is to stay... more alive. When they walk into the kitchen, everyone there can’t believe who Acadia has brought with her. With all the people already at the farm, that are cautioned to only tell family because the more people that know that King Farm is getting ready for the end, they will all die. Acadia will have most everyone behind her but Robert, Lawson’s brother has always hated her and he wants the farm. With everyone going out and getting supplies, guns & ammo and anything else they will need, it becomes a well-oiled machine with everyone doing their part. I would want to be on Acadia’s team if this were to ever happen. This is a great beginning to this new series from Tracy Ellen and I loved it. review 2: I received this book for my honest review.I must admit at first this book to me was a little out there in nature and being the first book that I had read by this author I went into it with an open mind and a hard heart. As the pages were read I began feeling for the characters of this book.Arcadia is a strong woman that has fears that she knows she must overcome in order to survive her husband’s death. Her friends give her the strength that she needs to go on with her life. She is a strong soul and a frightened one at the same time.An infection that breaks out has the ability to make people crazy and violent. How was Arcadia to know that the night she decides to start living again or try too in her case that she would be faced with such adversity. The code 4377 is used in this book as an emergency beacon for her friends. They all know what this code means and for what it means you are just going to have to read to find out what exactly it means.Rod the cutie that brings light back into Arcadia’s darkened life. He is a constant stand by your woman and doesn’t sway from his desires to make Arcadia his. I found Rod to be more WOW than at first as I continued to read this story he became more of a knight in shining army to this reviewer.This book is a fast paced book. You have modern world meets the future meets the past and a bit in my opinion of sci-fi just because of some of the words in the story. If you blink at any point in this book you will miss some major happenings. Though this is a way out there book for me I appreciated the strength that all the characters provided. Now I am not going to list all of them because really there is no need too. This is a great read for anyone that likes read you have a little bit of everything in this book even sex. You have the gun toting outlaws but are they really outlaws or are they out just trying to save the human race? Not going to tell you for that you will have to pick up this book. Actually you should pick up this book if not for the curiosity it provides. Because let’s face it everyone wants to know what would happen if you only had one day of life on this planet. That alone should want you to pick up this book.Does Arcadia and Rod get there happily ever? Does Arcadia move on and let love and sex in? Is the world saved or the town? See this book is really that good that did have questions for me to still be answered but that is what books are made of.To the author thank you for an amazing read that took me outside the box and gave me an unique outlook and more. less
