Lackadaisy
review 1: Lackadaisy is set in Prohibition Era Saint Louis and follows the exploits of the employees of the Lackadaisy Speakeasy. They all happen to be cats, but that's really neither here nor there. Rocky Rickaby is a young upstart gin runner trying his best to impress his boss, Mitzi May (who is having a difficult time keeping Lackadaisy in business ever since her husband was murdered). Rocky ends up enlisting his timid, unsuspecting cousin Freckle and together they cause a world of mayhem for everyone involved. They get into trouble with a rival speakeasy, Marigold, and things take a turn for the worse.I love love love love love this comic. It's full of extremely professional art, loads of interesting characters, deep plot, crazy slang, and fun dialogue. I literally cannot think ... moreof a single bad thing to say about it. Every character is so well thought out, full of personality, and they leave you wondering about how each of them got to where they are today. The plot is full of twists and turns, the dialogue is snappy and hilarious, and I can't help but want more. The only problem is the slow update time, as it takes Miss Butler quite a while to produce pages of such amazing quality. In any case, I highly reccommend this comic to... anyone, actually.Warnings: Mild language, alcohol, violence
review 2: This is by far my favorite comic. The artwork is breathtaking, the dialogue is incredibly witty, and the story is engaging. Volume #1 is just scratching the surface, as the artwork improves as the story progresses. All of the characters are very fleshed out and fulfill their purposes wonderfully, whether they be loveable rogues or cold-hearted villains. Some very intense action scenes and gun fights take place in this comic, while still retaining their humor (think "Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid"). less

Great art work! Good story but it kept reminding me of Johnny Dangerously.
