review 1: Hm I could've sworn I reviewed this. But I didn't really enjoy it that much nor hate it too much to write the rant again. Read volume one and was disappointed. Interesting concept but used familiar clichés. I did like his friend character but it was hard to tell people apart due to the drawing style. I may try another volume to see if things improve. Mecha reminiscent of Vanguard design, and the big baddies whose names I can't recall, of giant End of Evangelion confusion.
review 2: So this was weird. I think if you A-like mecha manga/anime B-like very science/techie based sci-fi and C-like shonen battle stories you will like this one. It reminded me a little of Gundum Wing, but with new genders and humans using photosynthesis to get their nutrition. There ... moreare lots of sci fi gadgets and giant scary space monsters that can take the shape of humans they consume. The main character has been isolated with his grandfather, living underground so he's a fish out of water, letting the audience learn about the new world through his eyes. less
