review 1: I thought this was a pretty good little mystery at the beginning but it kind of came apart for me in the end. The premise that a baseball player would have a sideline in this day and age of million dollar salaries is far-fetched but if you put reality out of your mind the story of a veteran relief pitcher being a part-time detective is kind of interesting. I hope that the author has a sequel in mind because it would be interesting to see if the character will continue baseball or go into detecting full time.

Johnny Adcock is Sam Spade meets Tug McGraw - as if that isn't enough reason alone to read the book. 4. I'm great at guessing plot lines and I just wasn't sure where this one was going. 5. There's going to be another one, right? less

Mixture of baseball and investigation. Not all that believable. Violence. Sex.

Like baseball - this one is pretty good. It's a guy book, but it was fun.
