review 1: This book was alright. I got the feeling while reading it that the writer has never really been to an Amish community. I haven't either, but I've read enough to feel that something just didn't sound right in this story. I also found the placement of the Amish words as awkward and uncomfortable mixed in so few and far between the way that they were. It's not often that I'm glad a book is short - this time I was. I don't regret that I read it, but I won't be keeping it and probably won't be looking for more from this series, as it just didn't strike my fancy. Was too choppy and abrupt and just felt off...
review 2: What a delightful Christmas story ! Little Grace, the artist, has grown up and fallen in love! I love Pebble Creek so much that I investiga
... moreted to find out if it truly exists. It does not but it would be a terrific place to go camping. What fun to read of Grace and Adam and their friends trying to walk in the snowshoes! I would likely fall and get hurt as that seems to be my problem lately. This is a quick and sweet Christmas story for readers to enjoy. The recipes for chicken and dumplings, green beans and fresh bread are a nice bonus! less
