review 1: I really enjoyed this book. The author provides the reader with an in-depth look at the Amish lifestyle. From the way they dress, think, and react to the 'English' world around them, Chapman's attention to detail in her writing showcases the strong sense of community and how their ways may sometimes conflict with the outside world. The characters are easy to become attached to, the setting is idyllic, and the plot, complete with flashback snippets, is engaging and puzzling to the end. Delightful story.
review 2: This is the second in a series. I enjoyed the first one and very much enjoyed this one. The characters are realistic and likeable. I like to read about the Amish customs and lifestyle. As I reached the end of this book, I anticipated the ending and ... morewas prepared to be disappointed. But the author came through and gave a satisfying ending. There were two different mysteries in this book and both were resolved nicely. I am looking forward to the next book in this series. less
