review 1: First thought when I picked this up? That cover is horrible. Book must be crap. It wasn't total crap but it wasn't all that good either. The way the story was told made it appear incredibly unrealistic and stupid and the fact that Blake simply went along with everything with just a minor freak bothered me to no end. I mean, pregnancy? Angels and demons? Soul-mates? Bonded for eternity? I think it deserved a little more consideration and fear instead of just acceptance specially considering he got shot at right afterwards. Survival instinct anyone?Rating: 1.5 ★
review 2: I debated on a 3 or a 4 for this story. I went with a 4 because overall I really liked it. Blake was depicted as being quite human, imperfect and ordinary to most including himself. It show... moreed in his personality and his insecurities. But in the eyes of his soulmate, he was seen as beautiful and it showed in his reactions to his lovers attentions.Sciniel was the uber alpha male and rather foul-mouthed and minded, for an angel but had the required pure soul and it showed. That his mate was not considered attractive by most never entered his mind. For him, Blake was perfect and he intended for his mate to believe it.I considered a 3 rating for some repetivness, such as the paranormal classes and the full use of the mates title. It was enough to interrupt the flow of the story for me. I also don't care for the fact that this is going to be a serial. At least it seems to imply that by the loose ending, especially since there are quite a few brothers that will need mates. If this was the ending for Blake and Sciniel, and the next story is about another brother, I will have to re-evaluate my rating. For now I'm looking forward to the next story. less
