review 1: **I received an ARC fro, the author for an honest review.**This was a sweet, sexy and emotional read. I couldn't help but fall in love with the cantankerous brooding Sheriff, Gage Denninson. The same could not be avoided for the lovely Delaney Collins and her sweet baby boy. I absolutely loved the love and devotion that Delaney showed to her son. She was such a fantastic mother. I loved the sassy single mother, especially when Gage pushed her over the edge. I will admit that at times I did not care for the good sheriff and the way he would speak to Delaney. I hated that he took out his problems from the past out on her, but it did make for lovely tension building scenes. Especially with all the dirty thoughts Gage could not avoid. The author did a wonderful job with these ... morecharacters and even with building up what is to come with the Dennison Series. I cannot wait to see which brother will be next...I have a hunch that it will be the good doctor, we shall see. I recommend this book if you are looking for a quick, sweet and sexy read with some emotional stuff thrown in.
review 2: Afraid to Fall fell flat for me. It started awkwardly from the get go learning that the prologue happened at two entirely separate points in time for each of the main characters (and I'm not talking days but years!). It's not until later that you learn that chapter one takes place eight years later for Gage but only four months for Delaney.I never really felt the chemistry between Gage and Delaney and that most of their early interactions (up until the second snowstorm) were awkward at best. I felt that the impending relationship drama (as you always know it's coming bc no good romance book is complete without it) was very predictable and that Gage's reactions being the same every time got old. But I also understood why it was done that way.I loved the relationship of the brothers and how no matter how much shit they gave each other, at the end of the day they always had each other's backs. The HEA was a nice finish to an otherwise meh book for me. Which is honestly quite sad bc I loved the Hamden hotties! less
