review 1: The Hamden hotties are back! And i would like to stake my claim on Jarod!!! He’s hot, stubborn, an alpha male and broken, but in a fixable way. I have to give it to Wendy, she certainly knows how to keep you reading. This book had me gripped and not because i wanted to know ‘who done it’ but the sexual tension between CeCe and Jarod was just so hot! Even though some don’t want to admit it *shakes head*The whole book i had a certain character in mind of ‘who done it’ and when this person is arrested i yelled “I knew it!” But as always Wendy has a twist to the story. I liked how the other Hamden hotties have a cameo in this book, nice to see they are not just forgotten about. The story flows well and is pretty fast paced. I was easily lost within the story and... more quickly lost track of time, in fact i read this book in just over 24 hours!Hats off to Wendy and another amazing book, which i HIGHLY recommend to everyone.I hope there are more books in the Hamden series.Reviewed by Nicola
review 2: WOW Wendy that was so amazing. When I started this book I hadn’t realized how much I missed the Hamden Crew. I will say when I finished the prologue I had some not so pleasant thoughts about Jarod Gates. I was thinking of ways I could cause him bodily harm. As I got further in their present those feelings and thoughts quickly changed. I was then looking forward to seeing what he would say next and what he would make me feel. What I think I loved most about Jarod is the amount of conviction he loved CeCe with. The level of commitment this man had for her was so amazing even when she fought him at every turn he was determined to make her see it, feel it, want it forever.CeCe came off as one of the strongest woman I have met. Only to find out she was completely broken and closed off because of her past which broke my heart. I saw the weakness of her past but this is what made her look so strong. She surrounded her heart with an impenetrable wall. All things her life went by her rules only what she allowed to happen and what she allowed herself to feel, until Jarod Gates is thrown back into her life. All hell breaks loose and their worlds collide with an explosive boom.Jarod – “Admit it; I make you all warm feel all warm and fuzzy.”CeCe- “Yeah like an ugly Christmas sweater.”Following them on the mind blowing, volatile journey from their past to their future was beautiful. The good, the bad and the ugly was all worth it when I reached the end.“Oh but by short while, I meant we will start with infinity, and work our way up.” “Out of broken pieces of one’s life comes a stronger and impenetrable hold on one’s respect and gratitude for every day you’re allowed to live your dream, wide awake.” less
