review 1: The second in the Tao series, following on from the "Lives of Tao". I enjoyed this book more than the first of the series, as I could not fault the character decisions this time. The story is seen from three view points: the lead character from the fist book, his partner Jill, and from a main enemy's. The story alternates between these sequentially, and it is easy to follow who is next because each chapter has a short paragraph from the character's host. The book is well paced, and details well the downsides of war and the espionage game. I look forward to the third in the series.
review 2: A fantastic continuation of the story. Usually, with a lot of new science fiction, authors use all of their best ideas in the first book, and the others in the series quick
... morely get boring or feel forced. With Deaths of Tao, Wesley Chu has done the opposite. Now that the reader has learned the basics of Chu's world in Lives of Tao, you can really get to know the characters and care about the story. I can't wait for the next book. less
