review 1: This was a fun book to read. I liked the beginning when for the first five chapters it shows how the kids get kidnapped. I think it was a little fast how they agreed to being supervillians. It was kind of wierd that they just went along with it. I liked it when the baron explained their hate for the league. It wasn't empty hate it gives depth to the story knowing why the supervillians are what they are. I wish they gave more background to Lyle and Deanna other than that they and their parents agreed to it. I also want more depth on why the league is like what they are. Why not just enter everyone with superpowers in the league, even if it's false they can still keep it a secret. I also don't understand if sliver is good or not. The little expert they had for his point of v... moreiew gave off the vibe that be was somewhat good but other than that he was still a full on supervillian. So it was a little confusing on that part. Other than all of that it was a truly fun read. It was written well and had depth to the story. I recommend this to everyone out there that is looking for a good read. I can't wait to get my hands on the second book, Mabry it will clear all of my confusion on some of the aspects of the story.
review 2: I am shocked there are so many awful reviews. I loved the book. The book is about 5 kids living in a world with superheroes. But in a world with superheroes, there are super villains. These teenagers are kidnapped by a group mainly called the Villains, although they called themselves The Vindico. These villains gives these kids a choice. Leave and go home, or stay and become their apprentices. If they stay, they will be given superheroes. This is surprising, because according to the League, which is the name of the group of superheroes, tell everyone that one is given superpowers by destiny, and if one does not have superpowers, one is not meant to have abnormal abilities. It is an interesting concept to think about, and even more fascinating to read about. It's less of a traditional superhero story, where the main character is chemically poisoned, or is an alien, and how regular kids received superpowers using science. It's an amazing book and a must read for superhero fans. less
