review 1: If you are considering buying this book then you are clearly in a specific subset of people. If you find yourself needing help to develop a frame work of vision and direction of a church, or any organization, then you've found the right book. I cannot tell you how much this book will help you. But if you read it and work through everything I do not think you'll be left wanting. Will has done a tremendous service to the American church by writing this book.
review 2: This is an excellent book about helping your church (or possibly other organization) build its vision and efforts around its unique DNA (i.e., if you discover your church is full of artists, don't try to run a sports ministry, and vice versa.)Mancini gives helpful direction on just how to figure ou
... moret what your church's passions and talents are - not enough that you won't want to call him to consult, but it definitely challenges you to figure out who you are rather than take what worked for someone else. The process he goes through in the book to help cast a vision for your church is distinct from typical church growth strategies and very helpful, mostly b/c of his contention that each church must start from its own unique calling and gift mix. less
