review 1: Well the thing I love most about the story is the fact that a boy wants to pursue his dream of becoming a director and his best friend and father help him accomplish that. One of the things that I love about this book is the character development because William Bell really makes the characters and their story lines really interesting!!! To be honest I actually had some " Oh Snap " moments while reading this book because some of the characters were not how I pictured them in my head , especially Vanni because in my mind I thought Vanni would be really outgoing and energetic etc. but the way William described her was a lot different than I thought, he wrote Vanni as a shy, quiet, that to me is a very well written character, after awhile of reading the story I started to fal... morel in love with Vanni`s character!!! After reading this book I discovered that the book was not just a romance that it was alos a comedy :) So after reading this book I would give it a 4.5 / 5
review 2: There were several problems with this book.1. This book is a retelling of Cyrano de Bergerac. I hate Cyrano de Bergerac.2. This book is a retelling of Cyrano de Bergerac set in high school. Cyrano de Bergerac does not work in a high school setting. The courtly love traditions that fuel Roxanne's standards in men and Christian's attempts to court her do not exist in high school. Also, a big chunk of Cyrano takes place on the battlefield, and there are no battlefields in high school.3. The narrator is a fairly typical fifteen-year-old boy with a fifteen-year-old boy's attitudes towards women and relationships. Not surprisingly, I wanted to hit him with a brick. Also, "Cyrano" and Christian" get together in this version. But before you get your hopes up for a queer interpretation, don't bother. "Cyrano" lies to "Christian" about being gay so he won't realize she's into him (. . .) but then he realizes that he's into her and they get together. Yay . . . ?(But William Bell went back and wrote a sequel to Stones after this, so I can forgive him.) less

This book was amazing. It shows how things in real life aren't the same as they are in the movies.
