review 1: The air seems thick with magic while I'm lost in this world. Night Huntress is the fifth book in the Sisters of the Moon/Otherworld series. It is told from Delilah's point of view. She is the middle sister of the half human half fae trio. Delilah is a werecat, who shifts into a tabby and panther. She recently was marked by the Autumn Lord as a death maiden and still doesn't fully understand what that will mean for her future.Delilah's human boyfriend, Chase, is kidnapped by a Raksasa demon. The demon is offering to trade Chase for the fourth spirit seal. The sisters can't risk the demon getting his hands on another spirit seal, so they hatch a scheme to rescue Chase and keep the seal. The point of view in each book alternates between the three sisters. That is a smart move... more in my opinion because as a reader we get to know these characters in thought and action. I enjoy the combination of quick paced action sequences alongside the strong familial bonds. The pairing lends roots to the characters and raises the stakes across the board.
review 2: Night Huntress is book 5 of the Otherworld series by Yasmine Galenorn of the D’Artigo sisters. The point of view focus of this book is Delilah’s, starting in bed with Chase having a dream where he was thinking he was a sundial with his arousal, and calls out another girl’s name, Erika, for which she gave him an inch long laceration, drawing blood with her left fang. The sisters are not monogamous and Delilah had shared the fact that she had a relationship with Zachary Lyonnesse.Later Delilah took a call from Erika, who knew of her, Jason’s ex-engaged. This fueled an ongoing doubt of their relationship throughout the ongoing travel from one bloody nightmare to another. This part of the story was a bit overdone and made it drag for quite a while.Karavanak, the Räksasa demon, captures Jason to barter for the Spirit Seal putting the love vs. lust angst on hold forcing her to gather the sisterhood and allies to ongoing fey wars with greater demons. Lots of magical and physical action takes place in a roller coaster fashion. More D’Artigo historical information is exposed all the way through to the end of the book where changes take place in the Otherworld hierarchy and leadership. The book ends with some revelations that would surely draw readers enjoying this series to grab the next books. less
