review 1: I really don't know why I picked up this one. I barely got through the last one in the series, and I wasn't dying to see how it turned out. I have plenty to read. We'll just call it a bout of insanity, which was cured two chapters in. Seriously, Galenorn's sentence structure was enough to turn me off- with its awkwardness and repetitiveness. Maybe grad school has just ruined me. But even if that wasn't the case - the way her main character turns to jelly any time a remotely attractive male looks at her would have. I don't care what kind of connection they have, at some point, it just starts to feel unrealistic.

... morere's a sex scene every single time something happens story-wise. Cicely and Grieve tend to get sickly-sweet, with the same description each time- something about it being a light in the dark times...But!The story arc itself is quite good. While it's slow to start, there are a few unexpected twists and turns, especially in the second half of the book. I will definitely see Cicely's adventure through to the end! less
