review 1: Kitty is a young girl's world. Like any member of the family it was thought a bed should be purchased for the family cat to officiate it being a member of the family, as well as to allow it to sleep not across all of their personal items. Despite how wonderful the pink bed was the girl picked out the cat wanted nothing to do with it and proceeded to sleep on everything but the bed. Bewildered and frustrated the girl sat on the cat's bed to show it how amazing it could be only to fall asleep. The illustrations were intriguing. They were done in a style that felt on the animae side, which is very different than most children's picture books. Also, the images focused just on the cat and the girl's struggles. Whenever another character, such as the girl's parents, was prese... morented only their limbs were drawn. It is believed so the reader doesn't lose sight of the main focus of the girl and her kitty cat. The story depicts of struggles every animal owner faces of having you animal be where you want it to be. The story depicts this very well by showing the hundreds of other odd and undesirable places the cat chooses to nap. The constant struggle of the girl and the greater frustration of the parents beings humor to the story and allows one to imagine trying to wrangle their animal on a new bed.
review 2: A Bed for Kitty is the newest picture book from one of my favorite cat cartoonists on the internet, Yasmine Surovec, of Cat vs. Human. Anyone who has ever had a cat in their life will appreciate this book, which looks like it would be a great bedtime story for your little ones.If you've ever had a cat. you've suffered through the indignity of buying a perfectly nice cat bed, only to have the cat sleep in the box that the bed arrived in, instead. This short and sweet picture book captures those trials and tribulations perfectly, showing all the places that kitty sleeps that are not the fancy new bed.I can easily see someone sitting down to read this bedtime story to their child, with their own kitty curled up on the bed... or on the pillow... or on top of the book. You know, as cats do.Surovec's illustrations are simple and whimsical, and perfectly capture the joys of cat ownership. Definitely pick this one up for the cat-loving child in your life. less
