review 1: "The Vinyl Princess" by Yvonne Prinnz, is a very good book that would relate to any teenager lost in their own of world of music and teen age crises. Allie (the main character) is a teenager in high school who wants to find fellow music geeks in the world. She lives her life working at a record store in Berkeley, called Bob & Bob Records. As a teenager in love with any kind of music Allie creates a website or blog about music with frequent updates about popular or less popular artists trying to find other people like her. Any teenager with a life that revolves around music will enjoy this book.
review 2: i have over 3000 songs downloaded on my computer. i have never touched a vinyl copy of music (though i'd love to own some!!). but although this book was agains
... moret all that, i wasn't really bothered because the point isn't what a snobby music elitist allie is- it's her passion that carries the book for the most part and i can totally relate to that.yeah ok it gets cheesy at times but there's something charming about the vinyl princess- i can't help but love it a little, that dusty records store ambiance and walking past different kinds of people and creating stories out of strangers (even though allie's 'stranger' didn't turn out to be that pleasant). and all that musical trivia was a wonderful bonus! (simon and garfunkel bookends!!) it took me a while to decide, but the rating wavers between 3~4 stars. less
