review 1: After reading the first book in this series...I was fairly certain that this was going to be a good read when I started it...and this author didn't let me down!!! Even though I think I like the first story a little better than this one...I was really touched by how understanding and informed the author was of not one...but two mental health issues! I like where this series is going and the way it incorporates what some people see as limitations or flaws and presents them in a way that we can better understand them and the trials that are dealt with on a daily basis by anyone who lives with these disorders. For me...having to deal with memory loss every day is a trial and when I read a book that gives not just me but anyone with a neurological disorder a little ray of hope... more...it makes the book all the more special! I love how Eddie and Andrew played off of each others strengths and worked through their own personal demons to come out as a "compete" couple (Eddie reminds me of a big ol' teddy bear that you just want to hug and let him make you feel safe) and I hope to catch little tidbits of their lives as I continue with the next book of this series!!!
review 2: I liked this book, I just didn’t like one of the main characters. Andrew irritated the hell out of me, and his control issues creeped me out. Issues like that are the first step into an abusive relationship. Just because Eddie is physically larger than Andrew doesn’t mean that Andrew had no power over him. Eddie’s disability, no matter what he says, makes him feel lesser than a more educated man, which Andrew is. Maybe I am reading more into this, but the relationship just didn’t sit well with me. less
