review 1: This was a very pleasant surprise. A fantasy in the vein of Adams and Pratchett with mythology and Americana mixed in. The best part is Helen, the heroine who is a Minotaur and is not forced to change into a normal human girl in order to save the day and get the boy (who is human!) I'm definitely going to seek out more books by Martinez. And maybe some day Minotaur chicks will have their own fantasy genre!
review 2: This book was so good. Quick and easy read, super funny. The author does an excellent job at pointing out many questing cliches, mocking them, but doing them anyway. All the questions that have every popped into your head, like "Well, why did they do that, now they're going to die" he will address, and then kill people anyway. So good. So funny. Che... moreck it out. Not often is the main character a minotaur. Just saying. less
