review 1: This book has really good information on where to get free things throughout the year. Some things are for AARP members only (I'm not a member), but most of them are for everyone. I learned about a couple new freebie sites and some neat things that go on during the year, such as a book and film festivals in Washington DC.It also has random trivia facts about movies and historic events. If you'd like to learn were and how to get free things, this would be a good place to start. They even break it down by the month.
review 2: This is fun to read for dates that are important to know, what time of year is the best time to buy certain items, and even some history tidbits thrown in. These things put together help you get the best out of the year. Need to buy a lawn
... moremower? This book will tell you the best time of year to get that lawnmower. (Just an example, may not be an exact noted thing in the book.) How handy is that information though?! Especially to homeowners. I am glad I had this book. I bought things at the right time, like jeans. Who knew they are cheaper at certain times of the year?! This almanac did, that's who!So I urge you to check out the 2014 version. It is more geared to Americans, their history and sales and such, but is beneficial all around really. less
