review 1: Wilde eventjes wat anders. Op zich een simpel verhaaltje: vriendin van een van twee vrienden wordt verliefd op de andere vriend. Wordt van alles bij gehaald, dochter van een dominee, die leeft volgens ZIJN bijbel en vergeet in de spiegel te kijken; hoe blijkbaar de huidige schoolgeneratie reageert en ga zo maar door. Expliciete sex taal past dus ook in tegenwoordige tijd, zie de video's van muziek maar. Meer is het eigenlijk niet, kortom tijdverdrijf.
review 2: When I read this book I felt the story was set in the '50s because of the displayed morals and fear of gossip of the main character, but it was contemporary as e-mails and mobile texting was used. ... morelly enjoyed being in the head of both hero and heroine. The romance was sweet and the hero adorable. Maybe the love-triangle wasn't used to the max in terms of angst and the left party could have raised a bit more dust but Mrs. Glines is an accomplished writer, she knows how to flesh out characters. A real page-turner. less
