review 1: I can't believe this just happened. But I rated a C&R book with 1 star. I adore this series and my love for Ty/Zane knows no boundaries but Abigail just completely did no justice to her own characters. How could she have Ty come home after 6 months of deployment after what happened in New Orleans and just act like everything is okay? Oh I know how because this book wasn't about Ty and Zane it was about Nick and Kelly. I like them, but my all consuming passionate love is for Ty and Zane and watching them get shoved aside so that an author can sell another book was extremely upsetting. I am very disheartened, and book 9 is going to have to be amazing to make up for this absolute travesty.
review 2: Definitely the weakest book in the entire series, but filled with... more enough romance, suspense, and funny moments that it rates as an entertaining read. My one peeve is that this became a case where there are too many characters involved for all of them to get a proper spotlight. Nick and Kelly make a cute couple – and I love Nick as a character – but I would have preferred to see Ty and Zane get more page time. less
