review 1: The Case of the Perfect Maid is published as a standalone ebook from Amazon (and other online retailers) and also within The Final Cases of Miss Marple. It tells the story of how Miss Marple's maid asks Miss Marple for helping regarding her cousin, Gladys. Gladys has been terminated from her service with the Skinner's sisters for dishonesty, when she believes no dishonesty was apparent. However soon the Skinners have hired a "perfect maid". However this perfect maid doesn't appear so perfect when things start to go missing. This is a short story with Miss Marple set in her town of Mary's Mead and it was fun to read and try to solve. I almost had the mystery solved but there was a twist at the end that I didn't see. Yet again Agatha Christie has won at the game "try to solve... more the mystery"!In The Case of the Perfect Maid there was no murder, but there was a mystery. For readers that love the Agatha Christie mysteries this is the perfect short read, especially if you are a Miss Marple fan like me.I love these little stories that I can read in 30 minutes or less and plan to read more of them soon.
review 2: Miss Marple is asked by her maid to prove her cousin, also a maid, hadn't taken a brooch from the Skinner sisters, two spinster siblings living in a flat, one of four, near by.The perfect maid, hired by the sisters, seemed a dream, doing everything to perfection. Until she disappeared with all the jewelry, not to mention robbing the other three flats in the building. Were the two incidents connected? less
