Tom Gray
review 1: Tom Gray finally realizes that the British Government is trying to kill him and his former crew who had helped him in book #1. It is now a year later - Tom Gray, a woman he rescues from the terrorist group's jungle prison, and two former team members successfully escape the trap set for them in the Philippines. They are safe for now and aboard a container ship en-route to Africa, eventually returning them all to London via other modes of transportation. Tom learns of the killing of two of his former team members - the events seemingly normal under the circumstances and left unquestioned. Soon they come to the conclusion that the entire team is targeted for elimination by the government. Little do they know that others are also interested in both killing and saving them upo... moren their arrival in Africa. The young terrorist mastermind, who is first introduced in book #1 - causing the explosion at the end, and then again in book #2 supporting the Muslim group and plans the attack on the American Army base in the Philippines. Now in book #3, he is now plotting a diabolical attack against Britain. This book doesn't spend too much time with those on the container ship. Instead, the focus is more upon Tom's former surviving two team members, who are warned by Tom in book #2 to go into hiding without much explanation, the government director tasked with killing the entire team, his hired assassins, and a different arm of the government who has learned the truth and is trying to save them all.Who wins the race to London? Who will survive? Who will gain redemption? The last quarter of the book makes putting it down very difficult as the writer gathers all the loose ends together for a final confrontation. Although this is supposed to be the last book in the trilogy, there are some things left open ended - leaving a slight hint for another installment.Highly recommended read. Great Job Alan McDermott!John Podlaski, author[...]
review 2: Having read the other two books in the trilogy and having loved them, I was really looking forward to reading the last book in the series. After discovering that the British Government wants Tom Gray dead, he will try everything in order to go back to his country and clean his name. But things won't be so easy... Will Tom and his partners be able to survive in what seems to be a soulless hunt? Tom will have to face rough times, confronting different dangers in his way.Clever plot and great characters, but since it was the last book in the trilogy, I got a bit confused with the lot of characters involved in this book. However, once you get familiar with who is who, the story flows in a swift way. It is a thriller that will keep you reading and forgetting about doing other things, because you just need to know what will happen next, and next, and next. The only thing I didn't like is that I found some typos and the ending was kind of abrupt. When I reached the ending of the book I would have liked to see a bit more of what happens. less
