review 1: The CENTURY trilogy recovers a bit of it's "mojo" here, but it certainly isn't the epic conclusion I had hoped for. I think I can understand what Moore was going for, but it doesn't gel in the way I had hoped. Still, it's an improvement over 1969, and a worthwhile read. There are some very amusing cultural references here, and it's not nearly as dark and cynical as 1969 was. Disappointing, but still worth the time to read.
review 2: Much better than 1969, I think, but the second book of a trilogy always suffers a bit. 2009 was faster moving, enjoyed a wonderful Antichrist, and his foe was delightful. As always I know there were references that went right over my head, but I'll never be able to keep up with Messrs. Moore and O'Neill. That's what the Internet... more's for. I hope there will be more of the League to come, no matter what the period. less
