review 1: The Boy Who Cried Ninja is a creative retelling of the boy who cried wolf, but it turns out to be the exact opposite. The boy is telling the truth and his parents are at fault for not believing him. This book would work well with younger children primarily kindergarten through 2nd. It still reflects a similar message because it makes the boy feel bad when he lies in order to please his parents and he comes up with a creative way to show them the truth.
review 2: Based on the title, it would seem as though this is the story of a little boy who told lies so often that no one longer believed him. However, this story is quite the reverse. A little boy, Tim, always tells the truth, but the truth is so outrageous that no one will believe him! This book was a fun read
... more, as Tim first deals with his difficulties in being trusted, his experience with lying and taking blame, and how he resolves the issue by throwing a party with crazy creatures. The storyline was inventive, with still a small lesson behind it in honesty. Very cute pictures and funny ideas throughout! less
