review 1: Swoon worthy and 5 stars! This book is definitely for anyone who loves romantic comedies. The author re-creates some of the most memorable romantic movie moments in this book. The main character is Scarlett. She loves movies especially romantic comedies like Notting Hill, Love Actually, When Harry Met Sally, and the list goes on...she was even named after a famous romantic heroine. Scarlett is a daydreamer who wants nothing more than to prove to everyone in her life that sometimes real life can mimic the movies. However her life at the beginning is not exactly happy. She does have a father who raised her as a single parent and loves her. She also has a fiancé who is a responsible business man. Despite all this, life is boring and not very satisfying. So she goes on... more holiday for a month to think and the place she goes to is none other than Notting Hill. It is here that Scarlett's real adventures begin. New friends and events have the possibility of altering her life and giving her the happy ending she so desperately craves.I LOVED this book! I am a huge fan of all of the movies referenced in this book and through it I relived all of them. I highly recommend this book! It is a perfect summer read.
review 2: A cute and easy to read novel.I started reading it because my cousin was (she picked it off the shelf of her old room/guest room/office while visiting home for the holidays)I'm not usually one for girly books and definitely not one for girly movies... so unfortunately I had not watched a majority of the movies referenced in the book (except Pretty Woman... I got all those references woowoo) So it soon became a fun adventure for me as I rented several of the movies mentioned. Still not my regular cup of tea but it was a fun detour for the moment. less

A chick-lit book that references many rom-coms, this was gimmicky and a guilty pleasure.
