review 1: I'm working on creating a booklist for my local public library. This book was one in consideration for this list.This is going on my manners booklist. It follows a little blue truck on his slow journey through town, and how he teaches the other cars and people some manners and shows them how to respect one another by being himself and not caving to the pressure of those around him. A wonderful book for children. Also, it's a boardbook, the first to be added to my list.
review 2: Summary: In this rhyming book of speedy cars, "Little Blue Truck Leads the Way," by Alice Schertle, children will meet a special truck that teaches those around him how to behave. This Little Blue truck is passed by and yelled at by bigger different types of cars, including a sweeper... more, taxi cab and a limo for going too slow. Will Little Blue Truck be passed by? Will all the cars get to where they need to go? Little Blue truck has a lot of lessons for these big, fast, and impatient cars!Audience: I would use this story with toddlers, preschoolers, and/or kindergartners.Appeal: This book is great because it is a fun rhyming book that has vivid illustrations of cars to capture the interest of both boys and girls.Implementation: This book helps to enforce walking in a proper line and to take turns. This book also mentions that being the fastest is not as important as remaining safe which emphasizes not to run in hallways or other areas.
