review 1: Brennan delivers once again with a fast-paced, taut, enjoyable thrill ride!! The writing is solid, the characters continue to evolve and the plotline is solid as always with her works. I loved that the setting for this one is Upstate New York!! A little biased as that is where I grew up and to see places like Potsdam, Canton, Colton and Massena in print was awesome. It gave everything a very real feel to me and placed me right in the heart of the action. This was a completely new experience for me and added immensely to the experience. I am hooked on Allison Brennan's style. She has a knack for setting the tone early and never losing sight of the basis of her efforts.
review 2: Overall, this book was a good read. Full of action, murder, drugs...etc. Basically,
... moregood cops vs. evil drug dealers set in a small town with an old mine and soon-to-be lakeside resort. A lot of the story centers around the old mine and has that typical small town back door illegal activity that is the plot of many movies. I'm not sure why, but I kept thinking it had a Louisiana feel when it was set in a rural town in NY? All in all pretty entertaining. less
