review 1: The thing about this book is that I'm not sure if it's objectively good. The quality definitely decreases a bit in the sequels, and the premise might seem a little stupid- teenage thieves- but this book was so formative for me that I can't see past my love for it. I will say this: it's a fun, engaging book. It's adventurous, and it has enough intrigue to keep you interested without making you very scared. I would recommend it, primarily, to young teenagers or under. If you're looking for a light, fun read, give this book a try- you might really like it!
review 2: I have never read any of Ally Carter's books but this was a great start. I never realized how much I love a good crime story!Katarina Bishop's friend Hale got her kicked out of her school because her d... moread's in trouble. A man had his paintings stolen and is blaming her dad (who's innocent) for the crime. It's up to Kat, Hale, her cousin Gabrielle, and four other friends to prove that her dad is innocent before two weeks are over. So, Kat decides to just re-steal the paintings back. Unfortunately, that means taking on the Henley, one of the best museums in the world (with a security system that is almost impossible to get past). It's a great story--impossible to put down.I especially liked Hale and Gabrielle. Hale was just so funny and cute and everything, and Gabrielle was like a "perfect" girl, but she was great. Actually, all the characters were likable, although I hated Nick so much, even before I found out...well, I won't tell you. less
