review 1: the book is freaking awful. better then the first two but freakin awful . the main problem is the lead. she spends most of her time talking and talking and talking. to the point where there talking about how to fix the problem all the time and the bad guy just shows up or wakes up. it's a series problem. unfortunately it's fundamentally part of this authors writing style for this book. just stop action action action less talk more do. tyer is awful... for flow in the book to the point where he's just .. yuck.. her boyfriend is fucking awful. he slows the book down and not in a balance way... it's hard to read. im not shocked about this book having such bad ratings in book 1,2, at this point. what's left is people who dont mind this style. but it doesn't get better.ok one... more thing i will say is. the witches. are fucking bad ass. and i enjoy that part of the book it's the few times where the book flowsif this series gets saved. in my mind more witches. a lot more witches her friend works well.
review 2: Another good installment to the series. Fast paced and full of action. I like the main characters, as well as the support characters. I still feel a little chilled with the relationship between Jess and Rourke. They don't seem to have any time or space to bond. I wonder at their relationship being introduced so early in the series, as it has not had air time to develop. Regardless, I am enjoying the series and am sad that the next installment isn't ready. I'm a little hesitant regarding the next book, as it doesn't seem as though many of the strong characters will be included in the main story. Well, we shall see. less
