review 1: Finding a well written UF series with a heroine that isn't TSTL without any hint of a love triangle is A) almost impossible and B) my favorite type of book in the whole world. This series is like catnip that for me. The plot was condensed over a short period of time and I'd like for it to breathe a bit more in the future, but overall this series is really impressing me a lot! Also, I can't wait to see more of Rourke in the future books. What little we've seen so far is mighty sexy.
review 2: This book took me longer to read than the first and maybe should be a 3.5 stars, but I'll round up. I'm not sure why this book took me longer to read. I think it was the nonstop situations that seemed to never end. There wasn't a lot of room to "breathe" and enjoy the serie
... mores as you were wondering how everyone was going to get past the current situation. I did enjoy the addition of Naomi and I liked learning more about Jessica's powers and seeing her learn to control it and interact with her Wolf. You learned more about the prophecy and the new and stronger bonds seemed natural. I enjoyed learning more about the vampires and also demons. Man, demons definitely changed the way the story is going! The book was just rough to get through. I'm not sure if it was the pacing, the nonstop action (normally, not a bad thing!), or how heavy it was throughout. The entire book is rather "serious" and I like a little laughter in my books here-and-there. Danny is definitely the comic-relief in the series. With that said, still looked forward to the next book as this one ALSO left you on a cliffhanger, but a similar one as the one before. Wasn't an ending that upset you, but one that made you curious to see what was going to happen in the next book. less
