Another graphic novel! This one is a graphic memoir by Roz Chast.
I asked my Book Club ladies to at least try it. There were reports from other book club leaders that some were grumbling from this choice – so, what did the ladies think?
I was shocked when 85% of the group said they really enjoyed it!
The majority thought the writing was hilarious and so profoundly personal. The subject matter was something that they related a lot to.
Most of them had gone through the situation or were going through a similar situation. It was one of the only times I let long discussions of their personal life in to the actual book club discussion.
When I told them she has another book coming out soon they were excited.
I feel so happy with the outcome of the book club. This is also one of my favorite books, so I’m glad they enjoyed it!
